We are seeking a passionate, confident, out-going and open-minded individual who is wanting a career as a professional dog trainer to join our team. We are willing to train and teach the right candidate. Or we are open hiring an experienced and qualified dog trainer. As a Dog Trainer at Sidney Aarons Dog Training, you will play a pivotal role in helping dogs and their owners achieve their training goals. You’ll work in a supportive, professional and enriching environment where you can apply your expertise in dog behaviour and training techniques. 40+ hrs per week.
Key Responsibilities Dog Trainer Employment:
- Conduct one-on-one and small group training sessions for dogs of all ages and breeds.
- Conduct ‘board and train’ sessions with dogs on site and run regular obedience training classes for dogs of all breeds at all stages and ages.
- Assess and understand each dog’s unique behavioural needs.
- Teach essential obedience commands, behaviour modification and socialisation skills.
- Educate dog owners on balanced reinforcement techniques and responsible pet ownership.
- Provide excellent customer service and address clients’ questions and concerns.
- Stay updated on the latest developments in positive response dog training and behaviour.
Ideal Qualifications:
- Logged experience as a paid dog trainer. A strong portfolio of successful training outcomes is recommended.
- In-depth knowledge of canine behaviour and balanced reinforcement training methods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- A genuine love for dogs and a commitment to their well-being.
- Certification in dog training or related field is a plus.
